About this Item:
A  ornate, gesso over wood Victorian Frame circa 1880.  The molding is 2" wide with multiple levels that includes an elegant cove mold as well as an elaborate floral motif.
The entire frame was expertly repainted at some point in the past.  The artist used a number of subtly different metallic shades of gold to emphasize the depth and detail of the molding
No glass.  Unpainted wood on back has the dark patina you would expect of a 140 year old frame.
Just add a wire and your period print or artwork and this wonderful Victorian frame is ready to hang in in a place of honor in your home!
Measurements:
Outer frame size is  14" x 19"
Rabbet size is 16 1/16" x 11" (This will perfectly fit a 11" x16" canvas or photograph.)
Depth from back to front is slightly over 1 3/4" (Distance the frame projects away from the wall.)
