Antique Victorian Purple Red Velvet Standing Picture Frame. This was my grandfathers and the story he told is that there was a brothel some where in Illinois where the town folks ran them out of town. He was told that they left in such a hurry that many items were left behind in the brothel and it was raided by the towns folks,  apparently one of my ancestor being one of the town folk. I also have a carved walnut hanging shelf that folds up flat that also supposedly came from there also. I have no proof of any of this except gramps stories, but he was serious man and not a man to embellish or exaggerate. I believe he said the name of brothel was Nellie's Parlor but its been a long time and I can't be 100% sure but I'd almost bet on it because I remember Nellie from Little house on the prairie had the same name. It measures 6 1/4" by 8 1/4" overall and holds a 4 3/4" by 6 3/4" photo.  It does have wear but it even has the original backer board on the inside, it is embossed to hold the photo solid. I have photo'd it well and it should show most of the wear. It has the original wire easel back that works fine it even has the original sales sticker on the back. The bottom shows some wear but if I had been sitting around for over 120 years my bottom would show some wear too I sure.
