  • Condition: Fair/good as is vintage condition. Some surface dings to outer edge wood, some have been painted over with black paint ,surface scrapes,gold gilt inner slip liner has some gesso chipped off with some re-paint.Frame is still sturdy.

    Description

    Here is a very nice antique walnut picture frame. I liked this one as the molding is so
    very
    wide at 5 ins. The entire frame measures 22 x 25 ins., the inner rabbet insert size is 14 x 17 ins.The frame has the typical Eastlake walnut style, with black ebonized paint on outer rim, and inner rim. It also has gold gilt liner on the innermost surround.The frame is in FAIR/Good as is vintage condition with some dings( pushed in wood/scrapes) on the outer surround, some repaint of black paint on the dings,also has some chipped inner gilt gold gesso on innermost surround. Some of that has been re-painted over. The frame is still very solid and sturdy.
    I would date this frame to the 1890-1900 time period.Perfect for a oil painting, a antique print or engraving,a antique photograph or antique embroidery.
    Suitable for Victorian,Edwardian,Civil War,Traditional, and 1800-1900s decors.
